Lamberts Engineering was started in the early 1920s by an engineer from the UK. Established as one of the best automotive and precision engineering workshops in the Wairarapa. New owners Peter & John bought the business in 2018 off the original family when they retired, and have invested heavily in bringing it up to modern standards. Whilst still using older and proven techniques, we will fix, repair and build anything if we can. Specialising in engine rebuilds, cam & crank grinding, head work, wheel repairs, fabrication and precision engineering, no job is too small or big for Lamberts.
Our vision is to be the best and first “go to place” for anyone wanting engine work done. We have doubled the turnover and customer base since taking over last year, so time to find another engine rebuilder with experience. We have one who has been with us since 1985 but he is due to retire, plus a trainee who is already a qualified mechanic. We see the engine work continuing to grow, especially the classic car side of it. We pride ourselves in doing top quality work for a fair price, and do not have any comebacks.
We are based in Masterton in the Wairarapa but service to whole of the North Island, with some South Island clients as well. The person we are looking for needs to be dedicated, loyal and keen to do a good job. Renumeration will be dependent on experience but we offer a good working environment in a friendly and vibrant town, which won best city of NZ in 2017. Wine region and plenty of outdoor activities in the local area.
