Volunteer Marlborough supports and encourages volunteers and volunteer organisations in Marlborough and Kaikōura. Volunteer Marlborough is an independent Volunteer Centre committed to promoting volunteerism and to assisting the residents of Marlborough to find opportunities to become involved as volunteers. We work within the community to strengthen the sector by advocacy, support and training.
Our organisation began as a satellite office of Volunteer Nelson in 2003 and, in 2007, became a registered Charitable Trust with its own Board of Trustees. In 2009 we moved our office to Marlborough House sharing with Literacy Marlborough, English Language Partners, and the Marlborough Multicultural Centre (formerly known as the Marlborough Migrant Centre). In 2017, we moved to our current location at the Community Centre on Alfred Street.
Our vision statement:
Enriched lives and communities through volunteering in Marlborough and Kaikōura.
