The Heritage Hotel, a 4.5 star hotel in Hanmer Springs, North Canterbury, requires a experienced Maintenance Manager with practical building and grounds knowledge, project management success and general maintenance experience.

This is a key hands-on position within the hotel and requires someone who can take responsibility for the general maintenance requirements of the business. Trade experience would be an advantage, particularly electrical.


You will be part of the Management Team and will be required to take a leadership role. As the hotel is a seven day a week operation, there is a need to provide maintenance cover during weekends, so some flexibility to provide rostered cover will be required.


The successful candidate will be a practical, methodical and logical thinker with good problem solving abilities. This is a key position within the hotel and requires someone who can manage a small maintenance team and take responsibility to maintain the hotel equipment, grounds and property to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.


The ideal applicant will have good communication and computer skills, have a strong commitment to customer service, with the ability to manage a preventative maintenance schedule, along with the daily maintenance requirements of the hotel. They will be a multi-tasker, who works well under pressure and who is self-motivated and who can contribute to the team. They will be used to dealing with budgets and have a full driver's license.
