About the role:
An opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and passionate individual who can take our health and safety to the next level. 

Reporting to the HR Manager you will generate an organisational mind-set that ensures a safe work environment and provide outstanding leadership across the company, resulting in effective health, safety and environmental practices and behaviour at each of our sites.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a health and safety related tertiary qualification and have an in-depth knowledge and practical understanding of relevant legislation, ideally within the distribution, manufacturing, or building and construction related industry.
Plumbing World has over 50 branches nationwide and support offices, so previous multi-site experience would be an advantage.
You will have successfully developed and implemented effective best practice safety plans and initiatives to improve safety culture and behaviour and have the ability to think innovatively and work in a fast paced environment.
Handling conversations with confidence and demonstrating a high level of interpersonal skills, time management and the art of managing a wide range of stakeholders across the business are all crucial to success in this position.
A hands on role where you need to be prepared to roll your sleeves up to champion and change safety culture. 
Your main duties will include:
  • Providing directional leadership, training and advice to front line managers.
  • Ensuring all compliance and audit obligations are met.
  • Developing and maintaining a dynamic Health and Safety management system.
  • Administration and reporting of all safety related information
  • Injury management and prevention
  • Ensuring safe work practices, procedures, standards and regulations are applied and embedded across the business
