Do you enjoy talking on the phone? Are you passionate about supporting learners as they work on new skills?
We are looking for kind and friendly volunteers who can support and mentor adult literacy learners over the phone.

You would make approximately 3 - 5 calls a week to our adult students. These are students who are working to improve their reading and writing skills. You would ask them questions about how their tuition is going, if they need any supplies, and if they have any concerns. RYALT will supply phone credit so you don't have to use any of your mobile minutes.

This role can be done from home or anywhere there is phone reception. This means flexible timing and no cost involved to travel.

Volunteers interested in this role will need to be fluent in English and have basic computer skills.

You will have a script provided as well as full training.

Blenheim, Grovetown, Havelock, Kaikoura, Omaka / Fairhall, OTHER, Picton, Rai Valley, Rapaura, Renwick / Woodbourne, Seddon / Ward, Sounds, Spring Creek / Tua Marina

Time Commitment:
Long-term (one year or more)
Medium (longer than 6 weeks)

Times available:
Flexible (no fixed times)

Skills Required:
Fluent English, enjoyment of talking on the phone, basic computer skills (e.g. email, Word), kind, friendly.

This is a 'virtual role' and can be done from the comfort of home. You will talk with learners from all over New Zealand.
